L’infermiere di accoglienza in pronto soccorso: studio descrittivo sul grado di soddisfazione del paziente in sala d’atte

Introduzione: in pronto soccorso, l’aumento degli accessi e la carenza di personale compromettono i tempi di attesa, la qualità percepita delle cure e la sicurezza degli operatori. L’introduzione dell’infermiere di accoglienza, dedicato a fornire informazioni e supportare i pazienti e i loro accompagnatori in sala d’attesa, può migliorare l’esperienza di cura. Lo scopo dello studio è indagare la soddisfazione dei pazienti rispetto al supporto ricevuto dall’infermiere di accoglienza.

Materiali e Metodi: studio osservazionale descrittivo condotto nel mese di dicembre 2024 presso il Pronto Soccorso di un ospedale universitario in Lombardia. I pazienti adulti registrati al triage con codice di priorità compreso tra 3 e 5 e gestiti dall’infermiere di accoglienza sono stati arruolati per compilare il questionario relativo alla soddisfazione.

Risultati: nel periodo di studio sono stati registrati al triage 4613 pazienti e 330 (7.1%) hanno compilato il questionario. La maggior parte dei pazienti (86.7%) ha percepito un’elevata disponibilità da parte dell’infermiere e il 75.8% ha dichiarato di aver ricevuto supporto per comprendere il codice di triage. Tra i 164 commenti aperti analizzati, 124 riportavano apprezzamenti sull’infermiere di accoglienza, in particolare per professionalità, empatia e chiarezza; mentre solo 40 commenti evidenziavano criticità, tra cui tempi di attesa prolungati, necessità di maggiori informazioni e scarsa comprensione del percorso di cura.

Conclusioni: i risultati evidenziano l’importanza dell’infermiere di accoglienza nel migliorare l’esperienza del paziente in sala d’attesa con la soddisfazione dei bisogni informativi, emotivi e assistenziali. Tuttavia, l'efficacia di questo intervento richiede un adeguato supporto organizzativo e la disponibilità di risorse.
