We receive several papers from colleagues on this topic, and we have contributed as many.

It is a subject that has been dear to us for many years, I would say about twenty. But what are open intensive care units?

Open ICUs are a care model in which intensive care units allow more flexible access to patients' relatives, promoting a more human and person-centred approach. This model contrasts with the traditional rigidity of visiting hours in closed intensive care units[...].
