Introduzione: Nel luglio 2018 un articolo apparso sul The New England Journal of Medicine riportante i risultati dello studio PARA- MEDIC2 ha destato molto scalpore. Si è trattato di uno studio randomizzato controllato su un campione di circa 8000 arruolati, che voleva dimostrare efficacia e sicurezza dell’adrenalina nel trattamento dell’arresto cardiocircolatorio extraospedaliero. Per compierlo, si è reso necessario confrontare l’esito dell’uso dell’adrenalina con placebo (soluzione fisiologica 0.9%).
