The Italian Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SIED) has published a document stating that Propofol can be administered by appropriately trained gastroenterologists and endoscopy nurses. In order to ensure the quality and safety of sedation when performed by non-anaesthetists, specific and adequate training is required to facilitate its correct implementation, which must comply with the latest recommendations. The aim of this study is to verify the effectiveness and safety of deep sedation in endoscopy performed by nurses.
