Nonostante molti studi confermino la volontà dei parenti di assistere alle manovre di rianimazione dei propri cari ricove- rati in unità di terapia intensiva, questo accade raramente in Italia, anche nel caso di terapie intensive aperte ai famigliari. Le causesono diverse, ma spesso sono i professionisti infermieri e medici ad essere contrari per ragioni non del tutto chiarite,
