Introduzione: nei paesi industrializzati si stima che l’incidenza dell’arresto cardiaco extraospedaliero improvviso sia compreso tra i 36 e i 128 casi per 100.000 abitanti ogni anno. Se non trattato prontamente l’arresto cardiaco diviene irreversibile. L’ipotermia terapeutica può essere uti- lizzata per ridurre i danni neurologici.
