Introduzione: l’edema polmonare acuto cardiogeno (EPAC) è un’emergenza medica a rischio per la vita se non viene trattata precocemente; da ciò l’importanza di un approccio immediato e adeguato, sin dal primo soccorso sul territorio. L’utilizzo della CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) nell’insufficienza respiratoria acuta ipossica da EPAC è considerato, ormai, il primo approccio terapeutico accanto alla terapia medica convenzionale, e attualmente considerata la terapia non farmacologia più efficace.
