Introduzione: gli interventi che vanno sotto la denominazione di cura del cavo orale nei pazienti ricoverati in Terapia Intensiva hanno lo scopo di garantire il comfort e la dignità della persona, prevenire infezioni e, più recentemente, sono diventati un caposaldo nella prevenzione delle polmoniti associate a ventilazione meccanica (VAP).
